Career/Technical Education, Parent Education, Citizenship, Older Adults
and Adults with Disabilities.

The National Council
on the Aging (NCOA) Workforce Resource Center is a provider of the Senior
Community Service Employment Program, providing paid on-the-job training
for eligible participants in nonprofit and public agencies. The program
covers Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties.

serves veterans' vocational and employment needs. Services include assistance
in job placement and job referrals, assessment, and vocational counseling

The NOVA Youth
Employment Office provides free employment services to youth between
the ages of 14 and 24 who are residents of Cupertino, Los Altos, Milpitas,
Mountain View, Palo Alto, Santa Clara, and Sunnyvale.

The Occupational Training Institute prepares economically disadvantaged
students with high-quality employment services including counseling
and advisement, career education, job placement and retention services,
while concurrently providing employers with qualified employees.

Workforce Development provides customized training programs for businesses.
The organization educates, trains, and retrains thousands of employees
through hundreds of on-site instructional programs annually. Services
include corporate training (group and individual), business planning,
and business consulting.

HIRED
Project HIRED helps
individuals with disabilities gain competitive employment and advance
their career objectives. Services include employment preparation, Internet
job search classes, a computer resource center, administrative and technical
training opportunities, and regular and temporary (HIRED Temps) job
placement services.

ProMatch is an
organization providing a network of support for job seekers, as well
as an excellent source of job candidates for employers.

People
Proven People is a
no-fee job referral service for individuals 55 and older. The program,
administered by the City of Sunnyvale and NOVA, matches applicants with
temporary or permanent jobs.

Jose Job Corps
Job Corps provides
education and training for low-income clients ages 16-24 in residential
or non-residential components. Participants choose from 25 vocational
training programs and may also earn a GED or high school diploma. Students
receive a stipend, assistance with job placement, and may earn a graduation
bonus.

Clara Adult Education
Santa Clara Adult
Education offers career training, vocational training and free training
for the homeless. They also assist in the implementation of CalWORKs
and provide advanced training to immigrants.

Access Foundation
Sensory Access
Foundation's mission is to assist people who are blind or visually impaired
to obtain or retain competitive employment by providing the highest
quality access technology assessment, computer training, job placement
and accommodation services with a goal of achieving 100% job retention.

for Brain Injury
Services for Brain
Injury exists to help people who have sustained a traumatic brain injury
with reeducation advocacy, counseling, and job training so that quality
of life and maximum independence is attained for both the person with
the injury and his or her family. SBI also provides programs to the
community that focus on the prevention of brain injuries.
- Silicon
Valley Independent Living Center
Silicon Valley Independent Living Center (SVILC) addresses the comprehensive
needs that individuals with disabilities have when gaining or increasing
independence. SVILC offers 33 services that range from employment training
and assistance to emotional support and advocacy. It is the only Independent
Living Center serving persons with any and all disabilities in Santa
Clara County.

Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
The Silicon Valley
SBDC is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the California
Trade and Commerce Agency, and the Foothill-DeAnza Community College
District. It offers small business owners free one-to-one technical
assistance as well as training opportunities, information resources
and seminars.

Services Agency of the County of Santa Clara
Santa Clara County
Social Services Agency administers public assistance and social programs
as prescribed by federal, state and county laws and regulations. The
agency provides financial assistance; job training; protective services
for abused and neglected children, seniors and dependent adults; senior
nutrition programs; and veterans and public guardian services.

Forward
Springboard Forward
is a nonprofit organization with a mission to enable working poor people
to advance out of poverty. The organization has developed a hybrid service
model that combines a staffing agency with a community-based approach
to retention and workforce advancement.
- Sunnyvale-Cupertino
Adult-Community Education
The Sunnyvale-Cupertino Adult-Community Education program provides classes
at 24 locations throughout the Fremont Union High School District. Educational
programs enhance employability and include ESL, GED/High School Diploma,
Adult Basic Skills, and Vocational Training. Additional programs are
available in citizenship preparation and education for parents and older
adults.

Public Library
The Sunnyvale Public
Library is a state-of-the-art public library. Electronic resources available
to the public include the Internet, full text periodicals and the library
catalog, which is available remotely to users. Services include industry
research, labor market information, research and document retrieval,
and workshops on the use of library resources, computers and the Internet.

TransAccess helps
prepare individuals with disabilities for competitive employment through
computer access technology, career transition services, and job placement.

of California Extension, Santa Cruz
Based in Silicon
Valley, UCSC Extension develops curriculum that meets the changing needs
of professionals and employers nationwide. Courses offer a variety of
instruction disciplines in technology and business, including the subject
areas of business management, biotechnology, engineering and information
technology, and project management.

offers complete student services, academic and vocational degrees and
certificate programs to those seeking career or professional development.
